VISITORS ROUND 2!!

This past weekend we had our 2nd round of visitors - Joelle, Dane, Jen, & the Cressman Family sailed to our island from Antigua, Barbuda, & St. Barths (I think that's all the places they went before coming here!) For those of you who don't know....I have been best friends with Joelle since 2nd grade...WOW!! It was so much fun to have Joelle, her husband Dane, her sister Jen, & their family on our island!

On Thursday, Mike & I picked up Jo, Dane, & Jen who arrived on a ferry from St. Barths. They had been sailing with the Cressman family since Sunday and they said their sail had been amazing so far...although I think they were glad to set foot on solid ground :) That night we went out to dinner at a mexican restaurant that has free margaritas for ladies (and they are the strongest & most delicious margaritas I have ever tried!)

On Friday, the group went to Mullet Beach right by our house while I went to class in the morning. Then in the afternoon, we went Extreme Zip Lining and it was SO much fun. I am very hesitant when it comes to heights so I was SUPER nervous but it was a blast! On the Extreme Zip Lining tour, you go up to one of the highest points on the island and then make your way down and zig-zag across a valley through a series of bridges, ladders, & zip lines. Overall it took about 2 hours and the last few zip lines were super long and you could see the ocean view as you sailed above the trees! I believe the longest zip line was 950 ft!! Crazy :)

On Friday night, we just HAD to show the group how much fun bingo is :) So we went to get our 12 games of bingo for $7 (including free drinks!) and Joelle won a $200 game!...but she had to split it with 2 others so she only got $66...but it was still exciting! Our friend Katie also won $25. We stayed at the casino for a bit and played the penny slots & the quarter slots....Joelle was really excited when she won $2.50 on her 25 cent pull :) And for anyone who watches Friends - we met a real life LURKER!! Haha :) It was so funny and she was the nicest old lady and she definitely had her lurking down to a tee b/c she was winning a lot! Anyway, we found it so entertaining that "Lurker" quickly became the phrase of the weekend!! :) After bingo we went out to 2 of our favorite bars - the floating bar Lady C's & Soggy Dollar right on the lagoon. Everyone had a great time!

On Saturday we went into Phillipsburg (the Dutch capital where all the cruise ships dock) and we walked Front & Back Street which are full of fun shops. And we walked the boardwalk which has the beach & ocean on 1 side and a bunch of shops & restaurants on the other side. We had a great lunch at a restaurant right on the boardwalk that is owned by a family that Mike tutors for. That night we went to meet the rest of the Cressman family who had docked their sailboat in Simpson Bay. We got to see their beautiful sailboat and we went out to dinner at a great restaurant called the Boathouse. After dinner we went to several bars on the island including Red Piano, Blue Martini, & Sunset Beach Bar.

On Sunday, we spent the morning at Bay Rouge Beach in the French Lowlands. Jen had to fly out early in the afternoon so we didn't want to go too far from our place! After Jen left, Dane, Joelle, Mike, me, & our friends Micah & Katie went to Blue Martini for dinner. They have great food and an awsome atmosphere right on the lagoon. We got to eat & watch the NCAA basketball tournament and Tiger Woods in golf (which Jo & Dane were very excited about :) ) After dinner we went and met the rest of the Cressman's at the Buccaneer Beach Bar which has bond fire right on the beach on Sunday nights. It was a great time!

On Monday, we had to say goodbye to our visitors :( It was so nice having them here and it really made me feel closer to home to have some of our best friends here with us on the island!! I told them they have to move down here and hang out with me all the time...haha ;)

This week has been very busy since everyone left. I have been studying like crazy because I have my last set of Block Exams for the semester on Monday. And, we have been trying to hang out with our friends Micah & Katie as much as we can because they are leaving the island for good tomorrow (Friday)...so sad!! We are going to miss them so much :(

On Saturday, my parents arrive for their weeklong visit and we can't wait!!! Until then it is study, study, study!!

Miss you all!! Please update us on your lives whenever you can!! :)

Love,

Mike & Carly
